- Easy to set up gear backlash and allows gears to be adjusted easily in the future, remove access cover insert Allen Wrench loosen four bolts on set collars adjust backlash tighten collars and replace cover
- Thrust from the input gear is absorbed by the thrust bearing, radial load on input shaft is supported by double sealed ball bearings
- Thrust from large gear is absorbed by the outer cone bearing. Both cone bearings are closer to wheel, which provides more radial load support
- Wave spring washer keeps constant preload on cone bearings as they wear, no need for bearing adjustment
- Thrust Bearings and cone bearings keep backlash consistent for longer gear life
- Completely sealed with o-rings on contact surfaces, access cover has o-ring seal, remove cover and replace without sealant
- Vent helps case breath for longer seal life, cap on vent keeps out water, wheel also protects vent from direct contact of water
- All material exposed is rust resistant. Hub and input cap are both C & C machined from 6061 Aluminum, dipstick assembly is Zinc plated
- Out put shaft bearings are closer to wheel for stronger support and keeps shaft true for longer gear life
- Easier to add oil and check, also raises oil level for better lubrication
- Both Input and Output caps come fully assembled
NOTE: It is important to check the condition of the following before ordering.
- Input shaft – wear, grooves and pits, where seal will ride
- Output shaft – wear and straightness
- Support Block – check bore for concentric, Install Bronze bushing if none
- Large and small gear – replace if teeth are worn to a point, uneven burrs or deformities where teeth mesh
- Maximum total clearance between shaft and bore is .010 “Example: shaft is .995 and bore is 1.005 – optimum clearance is .002 - .003
